The protective pad serves to safeguard the grinding plate or grinding shoe of your sanding machine or sanding block from damage and wear. Utilizing Velcro, the protective pad is affixed between the grinding plate and grinding wheels. To prolong the lifespan of the grinding plate, the protective pad should be replaced regularly.

Mirka's pad protectors are used between the sander pad and the abrasive disc, reducing wear of the backup pad's grip hooks. Our 9956RP pad protectors feature a 6-hole vacuum pattern as well as Abranet multi-hole patterns.

Included in the delivery are 2 pieces of 6-inch protective pads for Velcro sanding block, sanding shoe, and sanding pad.

The protective pad prevents damage to the grinding plate of your grinding machine or sanding block and safeguards the Velcro surface. The protective pad is attached to the grinding plate and positioned underneath the grinding wheel using Velcro. This significantly extends the service life of the grinding disc.

The use of a protective coating saves both time and money, as replacing the grinding plate is a more time-consuming and considerably more expensive process. Regular replacement of the protective overlay is recommended.
